Open day mbo 8 November 2026

All-round media maker

Will you make the new poster for your favourite festival? As an all-around media creator, you produce digital files. These can include, for example, an (interactive) brochure, packaging, a poster, an app or a website.

You often work from a rough design created by a graphic designer. If you’re not collaborating with a graphic designer, you’ll be able to independently develop a proposal for a cross-media campaign.

Your main tool is a computer (laptop) equipped with professional software for tasks such as layout and image editing, and you’ll learn to incorporate interactivity. This is also referred to as digital publishing.

What do I do?

As an All-round Media Creator, you create a wide range of digital and print materials, such as brochures, packaging, posters, apps and websites. During the programme, you will learn how to create and produce a variety of cross-media content for both online and offline applications.

You will learn how to technically build up designs and work with sketches, layouts, text, typography, colour and other forms of image editing. You will become familiar with the latest production techniques and learn how to work with Adobe programmes such as Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator and After Effects. You will also explore the latest developments in AI and learn how to create content for social media and animations.

What do I make?

As an all-around media creator, you’ll design and produce a variety of products: from posters, flyers, and book covers to packaging. You’ll also work on comprehensive campaigns that include interactive websites, apps, and social media content.

What do I learn?

In addition to the general courses, you’ll take career-oriented courses. You’ll work with professional software for layout and image editing, and you’ll also learn about interactivity and animation.

Where do I do my internship?

Based on your interests and learning goals, you’ll choose an AM-accredited internship company yourself, with our help. You’ll complete two six-month internships during the three-year program.

Watch the video of Mirthe’s internship at Spiegel crossmedia communication here.

What should I be able to do and like?

Of course, you enjoy working on a computer. You have an eye for detail and quality, and a sense of design and color. You’re no stranger to new media and technological developments. You’re able to work independently and take responsibility for delivering media content that meets the client’s needs.

Student Meric

“I really enjoy the All-Around Media Creator program. In the first year, we mainly focus on designing and creating posters, packaging, and flyers. We also learn a lot about typography and color profiles. We work extensively in Adobe programs such as Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, and After Effects. The atmosphere in this program is also great—not only among the students but also with the instructors.”
