Entry from regular education is possible at SintLucas vmbo (provided there are places) in year 2 or 3
At SintLucas vmbo, a programme of testing and conclusion (PTA) starts in year 3. As a result, it is not yet possible to enter in year 4.
SintLucas vmbo is a creative vmbo where we offer a framework vocational, mixed or theoretical learning programme and where you are trained for the creative industry. We offer the Media, Design and ICT profile, or MVI for short. This means that in addition to the creative subjects, you will eventually take exams in Dutch, English, Nask1, maths and economics or history and BTE for the mixed programme. To make your school career as successful as possible and prepare you well for our vmbo, we work with a creative intake. This is how we look at your creative talent.
At SintLucas we work with an extended bridging class. This means that students of the various levels in year 1 and 2 sit together in the same class. The level in which we indicate this is KGT, framework vocational programme, mixed programme, theoretical programme. In year 3 and 4, you follow the framework vocational programme or the mixed programme. Pupils following the theoretical programme (extra subject economics or history) are in the same class as pupils following the mixed programme.

Admissibility criteria vmbo year 2-3 year 2025-2026
SintLucas assesses the admissibility of pupils on three criteria:
Level:
- The recommendation of the school of origin is framework vocational oriented, mixed or theoretical.
- If there is a combination recommendation of basic vocational/framework vocational or theoretical/havo, the current school will be contacted to discuss whether admission is an option.
- If there is room for lateral entry, the level must also be the same.
Support needs:
- The pupil’s support needs must fit within the possibilities of SintLucas. This is assessed by the support coordinator in consultation with the remedial educationalist and the coordinator recruitment new pupils. This assessment takes place on the basis of the file supplied by the school of origin and an interview with the pupil.
- For pupils who move, regulations apply that are used by SintLucas.
- If you want to enrol from another v(s)o school, the agreements of the Eindhoven-Kempenland partnership apply.
- SintLucas decides whether you will be accepted and, if so, in which year you will be placed.
A pupil will be rejected if:
- The recommendation of the school of origin is pro, vmbo bl, havo, havo/vwo or vwo.
- The pupil is excluded from the draw.
- It turns out that we at SintLucas cannot offer the pupil the right support needs. This is assessed by the support coordinator in consultation with the remedial educationalist and the coordinator recruitment new pupils. This assessment takes place on the basis of the file provided by the school of origin.
- If there is room for lateral entry, but the level does not match the level at which places are available.
A distinction is made for pupils who come from a secondary school and transfer to another school within the partnership:
- Pupils who change schools in connection with -Upflow and downflow -Profile choice -Support needs -Parents’/student’s wishes -Movement
An application period also applies to this group in May 2025 (specific date and time to follow).
