Information inflow

Entry from regular education is possible at SintLucas vmbo (provided there are places) in year 2 or 3

At SintLucas vmbo, a programme of testing and conclusion (PTA) starts in year 3. As a result, it is not yet possible to enter in year 4.

SintLucas vmbo is a creative vmbo where we offer a framework vocational, mixed or theoretical learning programme and where you are trained for the creative industry. We offer the Media, Design and ICT profile, or MVI for short. This means that in addition to the creative subjects, you will eventually take exams in Dutch, English, Nask1, maths and economics or history and BTE for the mixed programme. To make your school career as successful as possible and prepare you well for our vmbo, we work with a creative intake. This is how we look at your creative talent.

At SintLucas we work with an extended bridging class. This means that students of the various levels in year 1 and 2 sit together in the same class. The level in which we indicate this is KGT, framework vocational programme, mixed programme, theoretical programme. In year 3 and 4, you follow the framework vocational programme or the mixed programme. Pupils following the theoretical programme (extra subject economics or history) are in the same class as pupils following the mixed programme.

Apply for school year 2025-2026

Year 2: we have no room for lateral entry students.

Year 3: no space available for lateral entry students.

Application procedure vmbo year 2-3

Our application procedure for school year 2025-2026 consists of two steps, the creative intake and the application that goes through ldos.

For this, please follow the following steps:

  • Send an e-mail to intake-vmbo@sintlucas.nl. In this e-mail we would like to receive the pupil’s first and last name, name of current school, for which year and level (K/G/T) you want to register, name and telephone number of parent(s)/carer(s). This is how you register yourself for the creative intake.
  • Monday afternoon 12 May is the performance of the creative intake vo-vo, year 3. You will come to SintLucas for this (bring ID/passport) and work independently on a number of assignments given to you by us.

The central application week vo-vo is from Monday 19 May 2025 to Sunday 25 May 2025.

Registration is done digitally via www.ldos.nl, for this purpose the parent(s)/carer(s) receive a login code from ldos via the current school with which they can fill in the preference list. They put the school their son/daughter would most like to attend at one, the school he/she would like to attend next at 2, etc. They fill in three different schools. If there are more applications than places, a notary from the partnership will draw lots.

If your current school is outside the Eindhoven-Kempenland partnership, come to SintLucas during the application week so we can help you apply. Please note: After 25 May 2025 you can no longer apply.

Allocation results
From Monday 2 June at 16.00 hours, the results of the application and allocation process will be visible in the ldos parents’ portal.

Introductory afternoon for year 3
For all lateral entry students who have been accepted for school year 2025-2026, we will organise an introductory day on Thursday 3 July 2025 from 8.30 to 9.30 am.

Through a tailoring process, we will look at what backlogs you have for MVI. At the beginning of the school year, extra explanation will be given for this. This means that at the beginning you will have to invest some extra energy and time to make your lateral entry a success and to ultimately be able to obtain your diploma at SintLucas.

Admissibility criteria vmbo year 2-3

SintLucas assesses the admissibility of pupils on three criteria:

Level:

  • The recommendation of the school of origin is framework vocational oriented, mixed or theoretical.
  • If there is a combination recommendation of basic vocational/framework vocational or theoretical/havo, the current school will be contacted to discuss whether admission is an option.
  • If there is room for lateral entry, the level must also be the same.

Support needs:

  • The pupil’s support needs must fit within the possibilities of SintLucas. This is assessed by the support coordinator in consultation with the remedial educationalist and the coordinator recruitment new pupils. This assessment takes place on the basis of the file supplied by the school of origin and an interview with the pupil.
  • For pupils who move, regulations apply that are used by SintLucas.
  • If you want to enrol from another v(s)o school, the agreements of the Eindhoven-Kempenland partnership apply.
  • SintLucas decides whether you will be accepted and, if so, in which year you will be placed.

A pupil will be rejected if:

  • The recommendation of the school of origin is pro, vmbo bl, havo, havo/vwo or vwo.
  • The pupil is excluded from the draw.
  • It turns out that we at SintLucas cannot offer the pupil the right support needs. This is assessed by the support coordinator in consultation with the remedial educationalist and the coordinator recruitment new pupils. This assessment takes place on the basis of the file provided by the school of origin.
  • If there is room for lateral entry, but the level does not match the level at which places are available.

A distinction is made for pupils who come from a secondary school and transfer to another school within the partnership:

  • Pupils who change schools in connection with -Upflow and downflow -Profile choice -Support needs -Parents’/student’s wishes -Movement

An application period also applies to this group in May 2025 (specific date and time to follow).
