SintLucas x Dutch Design Week.
From 19 to 27 October, our students once again take the stage during Dutch Design Week.

Guess What exhibition
In the exhibition Guess What, students from the bachelor’s programme Visual communication/3D Design and learning route Ä6 show what they worked hard on last school year. At lightning speed, they gain skills to answer questions that are not on the surface. Discovering themselves and the task further by digging deeper and engaging in conversation with people and professionals they did not know before. That digging involves lots of button-pushing, deep frowning and thinking out loud as well as in their minds: Guess What?

Opening hours 11.00-18.00
Festive opening learning route Ä6
Students of learning route Ä6 show their own work. The starting point of learning route Ä6 is personal learning. We give plenty of space to skills, individuality and inspiration, blurring the boundaries between inside and outside school. Come to the festive opening of the exhibition on Sunday afternoon at 16.00.

Exhibition Something Talented
In a joint exhibition by six creative intermediate vocational schools, students from SintLucas showcase their talent and craftsmanship: Something Talented. Matching the DDW Theme ‘Real Unreal’, these young makers have transformed their ideas into tangible, valuable designs. The exhibition in the Schellensfabriek, a former textile factory in the centre of Eindhoven, is part of the ‘Something Bigger’ event during DDW.

The Glassroom
The Glassroom is the starting point of a long-term collaboration between Design Academy Eindhoven and SintLucas(Media design learning route Ä6). Located in the former Björn Borg shop, it is a dynamic, inspiring space where creativity is central. Young designers can meet and engage in conversation here. Students design and create new work together by reacting and reflecting on each other’s themes and passions. Visitors can view these works and interact with students.

Curious to see and experience how design research connects creative subject content with innovative teaching methods? Fandom Meaningful Creativity. ReflexiveThoughts of aReflective Practor | Fandom Meaningful Creativity. Reflexive Thoughts of a Reflective Practor
Practor Catelijne van Middelkoop reflects in promptu on her experiences as a design researcher at SintLucas and presumably makes a comparison between her role as a Practor and that of a juggler. Just as a juggler is an artist who skillfully throws, catches and manipulates multiple objects, such as balls, cones, rings or other objects, in the air, as a practor she tried to keep multiple elements in motion at the same time without losing track? But why?

Our/Their Language | Our/Their Language
More than 30 hours of recordings from the search for a common language on design at SintLucas showed that a lot of knowledge among colleagues is implicit and often based on their own experience(s). During this reading club, we talk with interviewees and other interested parties about the importance of intuition in education and the role played by materiality and embodiment.
